This piece was my first experiment in playing with enamels, which is a more oil-based material than the acrylics I usually work with. These enamels are supposed to create a sort of stained glass effect.
The image I based off of a photograph I found of an old man with a beard. I later highlighted his beard to make it clash with the surroundings enough that it would be noticed but not a primary focus point of the piece.
