Media: Enamel and mixed media
Size: 16 x 20″ on canvas
Painted: 2015

This piece was an experiment in playing with enamels, which is a more oil-based material than the acrylics I usually work with. These enamels are supposed to create a sort of stained glass effect.

For his piece I originally was only painting a man wearing a top hat. After it was complete though, many people told me that it reminded them of Jack the Ripper. I suppose it is the clothing style, the fog-like background. So I have called it “The Ripper” since it is the impression it leaves most viewers with. I still enjoy the piece very much!
